Start Date: 6th November 2004
Bottled: 5th February, 2005
| 0.45kg | glucose |
| 1.55kg | white sugar |
| 3 lemons | zested |
| 1 tsp | Dried Lalvin EC1118 Wine Yeast |
| 1.5 litres | strained lemon juice |
| 1 tsp | yeast nutrient |
This is an improvement on our previous lemonades. We wanted it to be more flavoursome than our first, but not as awful as our second. We ran low on glucose, so some white sugar was used.
Mix lemon juice, glucose, and some water. Boil for 20 minutes and dissolve. Strain into fermenter and dilute to 20 litres in fermenter, add yeast nutrient and stir. Pitched yeast at 32'C. Ferment and prime as per beer.

2005-01-11 This stuff has been sitting in the fermenter for two months now. I think it's finished fermenting and is ready to bottle. It certainly tastes really good, so I think this brew was certainly a success. I just need to remember that next time we try this we make sure that we plan for the fermenter to be in use for 2-3 months.
2005-02-05 Bottled at last! We finally have our fermenter back. The brew tastes incredibly good. Not fizzy, and possibly left too long in the fermenter now, but very nice nonetheless. It could be very good mixed with soda, and will be very good indeed if it gains a bit of fizz in the bottles.
2005-04-11 Fizzing up slowly, but an excellent brew. A clean and very drinkable taste. Definitely worthwhile making again.
