After our two dives on Bait Reef, the Reef Cat headed back towards the mainland. On the way, we stopped off at Hook Island, where we had done most of our diving from the Stella Maris. That's not surprisingly, since Hook Island is one of the bigger islands in the Whitsundays group, and is in a direct line between Shute Harbour and Bait Reef where we were diving.

The conditions were what we had expected from our diving the week before -- flat seas, but poor visibility. However the dive itself was excellent, Stonehaven appears to be the home for a number of giant clams. Their colour was spectacular.

Unfortunately, this was our last dive in the Whitsundays for our October trip. Afterwards we headed back to Gwen's house in Mackay for some rest and family time for a day or two before flying back to Melbourne.
