Castle rock is a large bommie not far outside of the heads of Port Phillip Bay. The top of the bommie is about 12m underwater, and its base about 18m. It's has a number of smaller rock formations around it, giving it somewhat the appearance of a large castle, with smaller towers on its outskirts.

This dive was choice. Visibility was good, the water wasn't too cold, and the sights were spectacular. We didn't bring a camera, so the photographs with this entry are taken from our other dives at castle rock.

The rock featured overhangs and swim-throughs, and interesting life at all levels. The top of the rock was an impressive field of seaweed.

Finishing the dive was an experience, as the surface conditions had become quite choppy, making climbing onto the boat a challenge.
