I’ve noticed a concerning trend over the last few years, and I’m not
exactly sure what to do about it. As a culture, our communication
habits are changing, and the results may be terrible for our mental

Yesterday I travelled from Melbourne to Portland (Oregon), a trip
that I have done many, many times before. And like many times before,
it was clear that my checked luggage had been ‘inspected’. But I’d
never had it inspected like this.

It’s been a little over a year since Aaron Swartz passed by taking his own
life. Aaron was a hero of the Internet. He believed strongly in freedom and
privacy. He was instrumental in helping retain freedom and privacy on the
Internet. He fought for civil liberties and social justice. He made the world a
better place.
